Adesanya for me, big year for him, and I think 2019 will be huge too.
Israel's stalk went up the most in 2018, so he should get this nod here.
Why is there no "normal" Fighter of the Year vote? Just Breakout FOTY?
I always lean toward thinking anyone who beats Shields is a world beater... but I need to keep reminding myself that Jake isn't what he used to be.
Israel is the obvious choice here. Guy has real potential to be something very special.
The results are in!
In sixth place, with 9 votes is Ray Cooper III.
In fifth place, with 21 votes is Tatiana Suarez.
In fourth place, with 45 votes is Aaron Pico.
In third place, with 60 votes is Anthony Smith.
In second place, with 78 votes is Zabit Magomedsharipov.
And in first place, with a whopping 329 votes accounting for 60.7% of all the votes cast is Israel Adesanya!
Easy work for the Izzy aka Future GOAT
This year he gets the actual 'fighter of the year' award and more so.
