That's why early stoppages are bad.

Overeem who NEVER comes back from adversity managed to survive that and win. That easily could have been stopped in the first, it was worse than Cruz/Cejudo. Bigger guys and a fighter who has absorbed a ton of damage, but he managed to get an epic comeback.

Overeem didn't face plant and take nearly a dozen unanswered shots to the head. He got to his back and was moving the entire time he was on the ground.

I was shocked it wasn’t stopped but Dan owed Reem one. I couldn’t have complained though if it was stopped and neither could Reem. Sadly this trend of giving fighters every opportunity will not continue for long.

You notice how Overeem covered up while Cruz didn't?

The fight was free after he survived the onslaught, because Walt was done. But yeah, good no-stoppage.

There was zero basis for stopping it in the first. Overeem intelligently and correctly defended himself, Harris didn't spam and push to finish, and then intelligently, correctly, and technically worked himself back to his feet.

This was a good knockdown, and a good referee decision.

Yep. Good job by the ref. He gave Harris tons of time too but the dude just couldn't escape the position.

Good memory. I forgot that Dan didn't let him get saved by the bell at the end of the fight vs Biggie.

He didn't even try because he was gassed.
