Yeah, yeah he beat Conor and would destroy Danis in an MMA fight etc. Has absolutely nothing to do with that exact moment in the GIF. He WAS cowering in fear. No denying it.

My guess is he was so full of adrenaline he wanted to seriously end Danis when he tried to drop kick him. Well his plan failed and probably was like OH SHIT. Knew he fucked up, knew he was on camera and knew Danis and whoever had a chance to retaliate without being protected and he cowered in fear of actually getting fucked up outside of the cage.

No he didn't. Khabib hit him with his hand during the failed drop kick. After that they both seemed to wrestle before being seperated but neither landed anything. Too close and hemmed in to throw anything.
 
Khabib went 1-1 that night. Beat Conor but lost to Dildo Anus in the crowd.

I looked at the whole evening again and what stood out is Khabib punching McGregor in the face and saying "Let's talk now". Khabib actually stood with McGregor and let him try to beat him with hands. And then, instead of stopping McGregor, he made him quit. To be fair, by then, McGregor probably believed Khabib would actually break his neck, but a neck crank is not a knee bar. If you can take the pain, you can ride out a neck crank.

Before the fight, Khabib said McGregor was a 'tapper'. That means 'quitter', in case you don't know. Tapping because you're being choked unconscious,or because your knee is being ripped apart is one thing. McGregor didn't even TRY to defend that neck crank. He just rolled over face down and spread his cheeks. The after-party means nothing.
