I have a friend who is on trt and he swears it completely destroyed his anxiety and depression. He was socially awkward shy and super "beta" when it came to women and relationships. After he got on trt he became extremely confident and outgoing. He swears that he never gets anxious or depressed anymore, and that things that use to phase him and make him emotional/anxious dont even effect him anymore. Anyone on testosterone here have a similar experience?

I know of one that completely broke down.
I don't know what the dose or anything was, but he was a total mess right before some bodybuilding competition

Just emotionally.
This big tough guy started crying.
I only know him through another guy that had to lend him his shoulder to literally cry on.
But maybe he was a mess to begin with?

Did he start working out? Maybe the exercise helped.

Test is great, it'll boost confidence, sex drive and increase muscle mass and reduce recovery time.

The guys who cried at a BB contest was probably emotional after all the hard work, dieting, water cutting and lack of sleep.

It happens.

what was your experience like? are you on TRT or just recreational

TRT is given in manageable doses. It's not given like a cycle of steroids.

I'm kind of confused by this thread

he always worked out but before he started TRT never really made any significant progress. he was always very skinny.

The confidence boost of getting what he was after was I'd imagine the biggest difference rather than the TRT itself. Honestly I don't think most women really care THAT much whether a guy has a massive toned body or not but what does invariably help(indeed helps in almost all social situations) is having more confidence.

Personally I noticed a similar shift linked to my career, not to say I "never" get angst or depression anymore as I do but quitting my dead end job that gave me zero self respect and becoming a photographer as I'd wanted to for years previously made a massive difference compared to my 20's where I came close to several nervous breakdowns.

Does testosterone really make you more confident? Something about that doesn't quite jibe.

Again I suspect its more that it helps you gain muscle which gives you confidence if that's been a longtime goal of yours.
