Ted Cruz: Making U.S. women eligible to be drafted is 'nuts.' Ted Cruz is sexist.

I don't see the problem. The military needs to be practical and play to the strengths of the recruits. It's not like men all get the same job either. If a girl is able so be it, but not being able to isn't a reason for the current state of discrimination.

Maybe things have changed since I was a SEAL, but last I checked everyone that joins has to pass certain physical requirements. That's before you get sorted out and put into a position that plays to your strengths. If women can't pass the SAME--not separate but equal, but exactly the same--physical requirements, they shouldn't be there.

I don't know, women in the YPJ have been doing pretty well on the battle field and they're fighting in the most active war zone in the world.

How many of them are actually on the front lines vs. how many are just used for propaganda videos? Also, completely different upbringings. They're from a martial culture and have known violence their whole lives. Not comparable to the coddled third-wavers that are chomping at the bit to see women have the ability to fight in wars they'd then complain was nothing but baby killing for the sake of the 1%.

Ain't gonna happen to your little girls.
But your little boys, fuck em

I think the idea of a draft is nuts, period.

Why is this whacko even talking about a draft? He also supports torturing people and bombing them until the sand glows. This guy is fucking scary and I hope he never sniffs the white house. More evidence this guy is evil.

That doesn't make him evil and you are acting a little too emotional man. Calm down

Also, torture can be justified even by God if it can save lives and does not prolong suffering.

Are we being cheeky here or is this a claim?

It doesn't really matter, does it? We're on the internet, so we will believe what our guts tell us about others given that there's no way for our interlocutors to prove their biographical details.

Anthony Johnson was banned, amazing. That made my day.

Maybe they shouldn't be drafting anyone then, since there's no guarantee of men passing some arbitrary requirements (which I'd bet get circumvented fairly often). Or maybe it's stupid to have exacting physical requirements when probably the large majority of jobs in the military don't require as such. Does everybody need to have the IQ to do nuclear submarine physics too? Times change. God forbid the military have to recognize that fact.

FYI everyone true socialists support mandatory military service for everyone. If they were to get behind a war then no Senators sons hiding out and everyone must be part of the 'unit'.

What prevents a socialist from recognizing that the life bearer- more disposed to nurturing and needing of physical protection- should be shielded from war?

That's a weird answer, but suit yourself.

Drafted or into the coal mine. Enjoy equality.

I agree with Cruz. Most women arent physically strong enough to do many jobs in the military. Although an alternative would be to test their strength and if they fail, disqualify them from those jobs.

Having women being forced to g to war would be very dangerous. Few things truly get men to fight when they have good lives (as we do in Ameica). Women are one of those things. If you got married and your wife was drafted, and she died or was raped, it's reasonable to assume a lot of American men would (and imo justifiably) become terrorists. Women move on from relationships pretty easily. Men do not. You don't want those men becoming the next William Wallace.

American men are the greatest threat to the American government. It's best to not give them justifiable reason to rebel.
