Just watching Namajunas v Andrade 2 and JA is throwing kicks, missing and spinning. Whenever that happens it always seems like they’re open for a counter head kick. (Easier said than done)

It got me thinking of some techniques that we don’t see more of but seem like they could be quite effective. What are some you guys can think of?

Two others are GSP/Serra turtle knees and Joanna v Esparza sprawl elbows.

Standing hammerfists. Whack-a-mole esque in his striking is Joe Blow Joe.

I haven't seen a good flying scissor heel hook in years. What the hell, guys?

Honestly? Jabs. There simply aren't enough in MMA. Rose just showed why they're highly useful and less than 3/10 fighters refuse to establish them.

Well, you mentioned it already but the knees to the rib cage like what GSP did to Serra in the rematch is underuse.

Liver shot or punch to the Solar Plexus.

PUnching a hole in the chest is legit something that is strange we do not see enough of. Especially in longer fights, those zap your energy quick. Sure, guys are conditioned as hell... but if a guy is taller or has good head movement, there's no reason to ignore the giant section between his pecs and just above his stomach. You knee there. Why wouldn't you punch there?

I'd like to see more leg locks (Derp Bless!). Also, leg lock takedowns. Shamrock did one against (I think) Frye in PRIDE.

Lay n Pray. Mma evolved, its much harder to do that now.....thank gawd.
