True. My dad was we a Teamster in Rhode Island during the 70's and 80's. He was making like $60K back then as a glorified janitor with wicked benefits on top of the cash. That was a lot of money for that kind of work. I went to a bunch of Teamster picnics and barbecues. The events were full of uneducated, lazy, entitled slobs and their equally uneducated, lazy, entitled families.
His local Teamster "rep" literally sold jobs to several people I knew including a few of my friends who chose not to go to college.
In the end, the Teamsters pushed for even more from his employers and literally shut down a 100 year old business full of blue collar workers.
