Teddy Atlas joins Daniel Cormier on DC & RC to give his thoughts on former UFC heavyweight champion taking on lineal boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury on Oct. 28.
yes it would actually, since Fury beat Wlad Klitschko he has held the lineal title, aka he is the "man who beat the man".Im not the biggest into boxing so help me out here bros
even though this isnt for the belt
would francis winning make him the "lineal" hw king? or what ever
i have rarely agreed with a post more than i agree with this post.I'd love to see Ngannou KTFO the chump, not the champ because that's what Tyson Fury is, the CHUMP.
No real champion until he signs on the dotted line to fight Usyk. Until then, he's the chump

that would be hilarious. and then Fury would have to rematch him. considering how annoyed a lot of the boxing world seems to be with Fury, him losing to Ngannou alone would be fodder for memes for years to come. if Fury somehow got KO'd by Ngannou, i dont know if Fury would be able to appear in public anymore

Coaching wise, probably not very useful.Mike Tyson just signed on to help train Francis. I dont see that working to Ngannous advantage as everything ive seen of Mike post boxing career he's always showing fighters how to use his d'mato shifts constantly staying low and on the inside with lots of stance switches from the inside and low to the ground coming up with uppercuts. Nothing about Francis makes me think that system is gonna work for him especially against a guy as crasty as Fury

But the storyline is great.
Ngannou left Cameroon with nothing, crossing Africa and Europe on foot, because he dreamt of becoming like Mike Tyson.
And now he is about to fight a boxing world champion named after Mike Tyson, while Mike Tyson is in his corner. That's a Hollywood level script writing in real life.
someone get the rights to this quick before Netflix fucks it upCoaching wise, probably not very useful.

He has a history like that against good professional boxers not amateurs.Fury has a history of getting caught by loopy right hands over his jab... so I wouldn't completely right-off Francis's chances.
The real problem with Fury is that he recovers well and is very hard to stop even if he does get knocked down.
it is an asinine fight. There's far superior competition all round and coming off that blatant duck of Usyk and then running with this shows zero marketing strategy. At least Mayweather v Pac and a number of others can be said to have built hype around the fighters but Fury is flat-lining his legacy with this.I'd love to see Ngannou KTFO the chump, not the champ because that's what Tyson Fury is, the CHUMP.

He's going to hit him like Conor hit Mayweather!
Probably right. He'll probably still let Ngannou tire out and finish in later rounds, basically seems like the most guaranteed way to outbox mma guys. They just can't get the conditioning for the later rounds in such a short time.Fury can’t risk a flush shot like that , he could be knocked out
