Tattoo sleeves. Bad or good?

To each their own -but I personally feel there should be meaning in what one does when it comes to stuff like that. Too many people just go out and slap some shit together just so they can have a sleeve imo

I know a guy that had logos tattooed on him so he could get free admission to tough mudder runs. Other than that he's a pretty stand up guy.

Like anything else, they can look good or bad.

this. I'm not a tattoo person myself but I've seen some that are true artwork and some that are so awful.

I don't like them. They tend to end up looking like every other sleeve in that the images aren't particularly discernible when covering every inch of an arm.

I would personally rather have a handful of separate, spaced-out tattoos.

Those Japanese traditional 3/4 sleeves are badass. To be honest I love tattoos but I only have one and don't see myself getting many more. They've become wayyyyy too much of a trend.

This thread isn't complete without some pictures.

I have sleeves. I like them. They have some flaws but I paid good money for them and they came out mostly like I wanted. I don't have complete pics just a bunch of when I got done certain sessions

Good example of well done sleeves if you ask me. My buddy has one armed sleeved with a big Japanese dragon and the rest of his arm make up flames and water and shit. It's like he forced it to be a sleeve just to have a sleeve and it looks like shit.

Good looking ink. Always irks me though, for some reason, when the sleeves are in differing styles. Not that there's a rule saying they should match or anything. Just feels asymmetrical to my OCD.

Couple of thousand bucks to look like a white supremacist for the rest of my life? No thanks.

Thanks. I thought so too. I was quite asymmetrical for a while. They morphed into sleeves over time because of that reason. But now that they're complete and go shoulder to wrist symmetrically the color thing doesn't bother me.

Also TS, I don't think geography matters at all. It feels like you chose Connecticut because it's a really white state compared to Arizona or Nevada. At this point, almost being 2017, I think tattoos cut across all race and economic classes.

understandable, but unless it's done really artfully it will end up looking disjointed and terrible.

Lol any shlub with money can get a tattoo. I'd never be a billboard for someone else's artwork. Unless you do you're own tattoos of course. It's probably one of the gayest trends I've seen. Yeah, you look cool with your sleeves and neck tattoos while you print my 100 page document at FedEx kinkos lol.

Actually there are these things called shirts. That's why they are known as "sleeve tattoos" because it looks like you're wearing a long sleeve shirt. If you put a real shirt over them, or sweater, or jacket, or anything else that most people wear while they are at work, it magically covers them up and no one knows the difference. Jackass.

Like anything else, they can look good or bad. It just depends on the style(s) you go with, how well it is planned out, and how much you're willing to pay for good work.

Good:

You this? Looms like an Ed Hardy shirt without the colour

most sleeves i seen were utter shit. you have to get a really good sketch and a good tattoo artist for them not to look trashy. much better than neck tats tho.

when i grew up its mostly bad asses who had tats sleeves. Now every fucking nerd hipster asshole has tats and beards and shit.
