She has looked dominant in every one of her victories in MMA. She is a really good wrestler (2x world bronze, was ranked #1 in the USA and was scheduled to wrestle at the 2012 Olympics).

She is getting better, too. Her grappling and top game is improving with each better opponent she faces. I think Esparza is a good challenge, but Suarez is much better at what Esparza does best imo.

    Thoughts?

Her striking could use some work, but as long as she can close the distance/shoot, then she just needs to focus on her game.

Yea the gap on the ground at WSW is to big for her opponents to overcome.

If she runs thru Esparza I would like to see her fight Joanna. She would be the one person in the top 5 that Joanna hasnt fought.

Book it around the same time as Rose vs Andrade/KK winner.

Maybe, but i wouldn't be surprised to see esparza outstrike her and win. Esparza is better than people give her credit for.

Yes. Easily the best female grappler competing right now.

If mcwhopper Dern stays at 115 and wins a few more fights, I'd love to see her against suarez.

She has a great base to be champ one day, I wouldn't be shocked.

This chick has some legit high level grappling skills, not just for WMMA but legit period.

But she has no looks nor personality so it's no bueno for me. Give me someone who can trash talk or someone who wood.

I'd have Suarez in that. Dern is obviously a BJJ ace but I have yet to see her translate that skill fully to MMA at the highest level. She has a lot of things going for her though. I was highly impressed with her last fight.

Athletes always talk about the mental aspect of competing. When all things are equal confidence is what will give you the extra push to be better than everyone else. And Suarez has it in spades. I saw it in her the first time I saw her compete. That thing you can never teach. You either have it or you don't. And she does.

Olympic-caliber wrestler. Overcame cancer. The aren't a lot of people out there that will be able to mess with her mental. She has the fortitude of a future champion. All the signs are there.

She looked dominant from the first fight on TUF.
Not sure why she is still not the no1 contender tbh.

She better start talking about rearranging other girls' faces.

Ever since Ronda left we haven't really had a single girl who is willing to come out of their feminist shell and trash talk their opponents. Joanna sort of did it but she's so full of cringe it cancels everything out. Very frustrating as a fan of popcorn. Do these chicks want to stay broke?

Apparently these girls are familiar with each other. I think Tatiana's size is going to be a problem for her though. I'm hoping carla can stuff a few takedowns, so we can see what kind of Striking Suaraz got.

Yeah. it's one of the biggest 115lbers vs. one of the smallest. The size difference might be the deciding factor.
