We all know and want to say that Conor is a gigantic pussy for tapping, especially when a bad ass WOMAN, fought for 5 rounds, trying to keep her title to her last breath, while Conor tapped faster than a 16yr-old at prom night. However, it's just more PC to say, "tapping is good, yup!"

Look at this, though. Conor didn't even try to fight the choke. He didn't attempt to peel Nate's hand off his head, or even pull the arm away from his neck. He just rolled over and tapped.

For a championship caliber fighter making millions of dollars per fight, I think expectations should be higher on McGregor's ability to deal with adversity. He wanted out of there so badly the moment the fight wasn't going his way, something you'd expect to see out of a prelim fighter. Compare him to Bones, who elevated his game in the later rounds of the Gustafsson fight. Bones demonstrated a true championship mentality, but gets shit on. I cannot help but think of Donald Cerrone taking all those punches from Nate Diaz in their fight. McGregor would have gotten himself out of there, while Cerrone took the damage and kept fighting. Ironically, didn't McGregor shit on Cerrone for how quickly he lost to RDA?

Yes. Conor is a skilled KO artist that doesn't have the experience and training to deal with adversity. He could have used defense to ride out the 2nd round after Nate clocked him with the 1-2. He would have lost the round, but could have recovered. He just wasn't ready for someone as tough as Nate, and gave up. That's why Conor deserves some shit for how that fight ended.
