i like zabit too (mostly streamed the card to watch his fight) but he's 27 years old, the same age that Erick silva was when he made his UFC debut

I keep seeing people talk about his "potential" like he is 22, and saw a thread comparing him to young jones who won 9 title fights by age 27

It's not even like a D.C. situation where he was old before he started training, zabits already have 16 fights and has been pro for 6 years

Zabits probably close to his potential now and should be fighting top 10 fighters, idk why people are talking about him like he's a 20 year old prospect

Great analysis, he got exposed in this last fight with pillow fists and Ngannou-esque cardio

Had huge problems taking and holding his opponent down

It's a matter of time before his chin gets cracked like Silva's did, and then it's all downhill from there

Perpetual prospect

Zabit is too old to be compared to a young prospect like Erik

100% agree. Some of the posts I've seen about this guy are insanely delusional. He's a decent fighter and maybe he will go on to bigger things than Erik Silva but I don't see why people need to hype the guy to death to the point that others are hoping he fails. It's seems like a lot of people always want to cling to every no-name, non-American fighter with a gaudy streak so they can look like some "underground expert" and then bail on the guy as soon as he loses.

Zabit has shown skills but he's 27 and has never faced a top 50 fighter... that's all there is to say at this point.

once silva goes pro it's all over

a true new breed fighter

But maybe he'll be the next Gabriel Gonzaga or Sokoudjou instead...wait, let me try that again.

Silva too young for big leagues. Needs to get some experience before making the jump back to ufc.

Or maybe he wI'll be the next Khabib or Tony or Aldo? You never know

You just wait until Silva reaches his full potential. You'll see why there will never be anyone that can be compared. You'll see. You'll ALL see!

He looked amazing, good striking, good defense, good wrestling. The guy has talent and I can see him pierce the top 5 and possibly get a title shot in 2019. I think he will be the main event in Russia.

Anyone who knows what they’re watching can see Zabit is more than a prospect, he’s ready to kill right now.

The fact that Anthony Pettis was ahead of him on the card shows how most fans can only look back to the past and have no forward vision.

Everyone who won a fight at UFC 223 got exposed.

Zabit is already very experienced while Erick is very young and not even close to realizing his true potential yet.

Zabit could be Silva's dad if he wasn't so ugly.

Too old, too ugly to be like our kid Erick Silva.

Or maybe he wI'll be the next Khabib or Tony or Aldo? You never know

Aldo was #1 in the world by 23 and by zabits age already had like 5-6 UFC title defenses

Khabib beat Michael Johnson when he was 27 and probably would've had a tile shot at least a year before that if he didn't have a 2 year injury layoff

Tony is the only one you mentioned that wasn't top 5 by zabits age, but didn't start training until a while after college

Why are you dissing my boy Erick? He is the phenomenal prodigy of his generation!

Yeah he's good NOW, not a prospect, anything other than top 10 next is a joke

Idk why people act like he's 22 and just potential
