Has anyone gotten the Pedro and Stevens Takedown Blueprint DVD? Is it worth it?

Price seems great, but is this stuff I can incorporate into my game without doing judo classes also? I'm doing wrestling for standup now and I wonder if it is possible to learn any judo off a DVD.

Pedro's other instructionals have been fantastic. I consider his grip fighting stuff to be mandatory knowledge for grappling with a gi

Can you even still get this? I emailed Rhadi about it a long time ago when everyone was out of Grip Like A World Champion and he never got back to me. I'd still love to buy it.

Yes. I own the Takedown Blueprint DVD. It is worth the purchase especially if you are an active BJJ tourney competitor.

To answer your questions:

There are sound principles presented in the DVD. The takedowns are practical to BJJ and you don't have to be a Judoka since you were 3 years old to pull them off.

You can *watch* Judo from a DVD but you'll have to drill these takedowns with a partner or grappling dummy to learn the concepts of off-balancing that lead to these takedowns.

I got it directly from Jimmy Pedro's site just recently. It was a little pricey, but fair. It's less of a complete system, more of a list of principles that have to be drilled and practiced. I have yet to completely incorporate it into my game but that's on me not the product.

I agree with this 100%. If the concepts presented are drilled regularly, your takedown game in BJJ will improve substantially.

The bjjhq price was a steal. I paid full price, but haven't gotten too far into yet.

It arrived to me last week and I've only got the chance to watch through it once, but I like the DVD. Jimmy and Travis both do a nice job of breaking down throws and there plenty of options, and I think they make it relevant to BJJ strategy. The third DVD goes a lot into working the throws into live rolling. Pretty good value for the price.
