Gomi love. I don't get it. Pulver is his biggest win. That's great, but it doesn't make me want to marry him.

Most newer MMA fans wouldn't even know who/what you are talking about.

    Gomi beat Eva?

What org would sanction a fight between a lightweight and a fifty foot tall robot?

    Oh, wait. PRIDE.

    War Gomi.

Okay? Was there something wrong with what I said? If an average MMA fan hears that song, do you think they'll recognize Gomi?

Gomi just wasn't the same after he lost to Aurelio... there was that time between the BJ fight and the Aurelio loss where he was probably one of the scariest LWs ever. He had great knockout power and wrestling, nobody could take him down, and he was constantly pushing forward and pressuring his opponents, and fighting with him essentially meant you were gonna get bullied until he finished you, probably with a knockout. He probably could've beaten BJ in a rematch during that time.

you can't compare gomi now to his prime

    in his era,
he was certainly regarded by fighters, writers, fans and even sherdog
one of the best of that period

and i think most will agree he was one of the most exciting fighters of all time
always looking to knock your off, and not afraid to take risks and lose
which is more than i can say for most fighters now, regardless of records or statistics

no matter what ppl say, his legacy is cemented in the history books

Gomi was impressive, and the best at one point. I don't see how he is the best ever though.
