Has anyone ever trained at these places? I will be in TW and HK from October 8th - 22nd a quick google search turned up these two places.

    Taiwan Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy 台灣巴西柔術學院

and Kowloon BJJ - Kowloon BJJ

Just wanted to get some feedback or see what my other options are. I'll only be in HK for the last 3 days of my trip, so most of my time will be spent in Taiwan.

Small world, those 2 gyms are where I trained for the past few years.

Tw bjj is by far the best you'll find in Taiwan, with Makoto their resident black belt in BJJ, a japanese guy who's super technical. The guys are pretty friendly and often go out for a beer or whatever

KLN bjj is exactly like that except it's in HK on Kowloon side, there's no black belt but there's a still a bunch of good teachers including a brown belt who's a total badass. This is also the place I train in now.

check out www.bjj-asia.com to find out all the gyms you could find in there. Have a good trip

Any opinions on Makoto Aramaki at HKJJ? I know he's a judo/bjj black belt out of Japan. Plus from the research I've done looks like he used to instruct at Kowloon BJJ, and seems to be legit.

Haven't trained at Taiwan BJJ but actually met a few of their guys at the Asian Open in Japan last weekend. Very nice guys and they did very well in competition, especially their purple belts.

I would definitely stop by there if you're in Taibei.

    Thanks.

Originally I wanted to check out Kowloon BJJ but my schedule would make it hard for me to make a lot of evening classes. Then I seen hkjj has morning classes.

Silvio Braga's looks good too but central is too far of a commute for me at the moment.
