i just had a sparring session with a fighter who also trains in vienna/austria in taisumovs club.

he basiclly said the ufc wants him to fight at fight night hamburg/germany and offered a contract with an other unranked oppenent. taisumov´s managment said hell nah and told ufc their opinion that it s time to give him a ranked fighter.
Obviously taisumov has no bargaining power and will take the fight if he has to.

Why is the ufc doing this? Is it because he failed the visa for the boston fight and now they don t seem him as marktable without fighting in the usa? or what is it? it s time for a step up - knocking out cans was fun buts get boring come on ufc

Hes a good prospect but im not sure why he thinks hes entitled to top 10 fights. He hasnt beaten anyone in the top 30 has he?

Alan Patrick was super close to top15 when they fought

Its not easy to beat Bang in a striking battle either

He needs at least a top 15 guy. But it's not like they didn't offer him a nice fight in Dariush and he couldn't compete

I think he deserves a ranked opponent, but he's better off taking a fight to get paid and crushing the guy in front of him. It's been shown engaging Zuffa in a stalemate is not exactly beneficial to one's career.

According to a few fighters, Joe Silva can be irritable. He plays matchmaker to hundreds of fighters, and doesn't like it when fighters try to do his job for him by being selective.

Silva probably considered his options and chose this as the best one. Silva either values Taisumov's presence on the Hamburg card, but doesn't want a fight as big as Taisumov/Top15 on the card, OR he just wants to build Taisumov up slowly regardless of fight location.

It sucks for Taisumov though. He was scheduled to fight Dariush but injury prevented it. Then the Visa issues took him off the card entirely.

why the fuck would taisumov be upset about getting to crush cans inside the ufc? it means the ufc is building him up.

Because he wants a challenge and wants fight with someone on his level in order to climb the ranks at 155? That seems like common sense to me.

For the same reason a ranked fighter doesnt want to fight him. Cause he's an unranked fighter

He should definetly get an opponent next that actually makes it competive...

I was at the last Berlin Card...where he fought Alan Patrick...and it looked like he wasn't even challenged...
He shouldn't keep fighting guys like this "greek mma champion"

To be fair the guy is on a 4 fight KO win streak, he deserves someone either top 15 or just outside top 15.

Joe Silva is a can. For the so called world's best matchmaker he should have been fired years ago for incompetence. So many shitty nonsensical mind fuck fights he has made over the years to still be gainfully employed. If a weasel like that was in charge of my career progression I'd probably have problems with that too.

How the fuck was Patrick anywhere close to the top 15? His only win of any relevance is Makdessi and it was hardly impressive. In fact, most people thought he lost the fight.

The reason to give Taisumov a better opponent would be cause he's been winning his fights very easily. Obviously, he can't keep going on against the same level of competition. If he can't get into the US, I see no reason for him to be in the UFC though

he deserves a step up, but at the same time the UFC wants a highlight reel for the Europe event.

Preach on Brother, Preach!

After crushing 3 cans in a row he definitely should get a top 15 guy.

Lol thanks man, for me their matchmaking has been bad for awhile now. They should look at revamping the process or something. You could draw names from a hat or spin the wheel of destiny and outperform Joe Silva.

Normally guys are can crushers before they make it to UFC, but this guy has also been a can crusher in UFC too haha, some of his opponents were awful. That Greek guy he fought had to be one of the worst fighters ever in UFC, the fact it went to 2nd round was even more embarrassing
