After reading the article, I didn't see him being disrespectful to Maia but I simply didn't get his point, saying the fight would be boring or "he wouldn't be in danger". Since Maia is racking up impressive quality wins in division, and considering he (Wodley) just lost a title fight to Marquardt (who lost to Saffiedine) and beat (in a convincent way I must say) a lost Jay Hieron, this fight would have a great value for him.

I can't say he is afraid but if he is so confident of his wrestling and boxing, why dismiss Maia like that? I'm not comparing Rory or Diaz to Maia, but both guys would never threat him in the ground (well, Diaz maybe).

You will not find one person at WW who will raise their hand to fight Maia. Nobody.

More fighters will try and avoid him than any other division right now.

Why dismiss Maia? Who knows? But he is crazy if he thinks Maia couldn't strangle him.

Lol, Tyron of all people saying "he just took him down and jumped on his back" is pretty damn funny.

He had skipped the "jumped on his back" part in most of his SF fights.

Maia would wreck Woodley as he does everybody at WW, diet Maia = future champ

Cause Tyron knows Maia would beat him. Rory will probably beat him too and I doubt rory will be fighting woodley next even if he loses to condit.

Tyron is calling other people boring? LMFAO....he's letting that KO get to his head. We are not gonna act like his strikeforce fights didn't happen....Maia would beat him easily and he knows it

Maia would finish Woodley with ease. The way he's out grappling everybody, he will be fighting GSP in a fight or 2.

His fight against Nate was fun to, so he's been very exciting lately

that being said no wrestlers will be jumping at the bit to fight Demian after Story/Fitch's performances

Maia's got nothing on Woodley. Woodley survived Paul Daley's omoplata.

:P

Maia is definitely a beast at WW but I think he'll have problems against guys with a lot of power. Of course if he can get them down, they'll be screwed though..

Maia is a beast. However, he needs to remember to set up his TD intelligently, get them down, Game Over. Rushing towards people (like he did at the beginning of the Fitch fight) might caused him to get KO.

Lol at Woodley calling out Maia's performance. Maybe Woodley could defend the takedown from Maia or maybe he couldn't but to infer he's boring is very hypocritical.

I enjoyed Maia's performance on Saturday, I can't say the same for all of Woodley's Strikeforce fights.

I think GSP will raise his hand, but as the champ he shouldnt' even get that option. He should simply have to fight him..... that said, Maia is a much more attractive fight than Ando.

Or maybe GSP will go for a slice of Bendo.

The SUB equivalent of this would happen :)

Yeah, most Woodley fights he just sort of hugs them powerfully and lay there.

The proper next opponent for Woodley is Alves.

I don't know why he thinks a win over Jay Heiron gets him Rory. Rory is realistically one win from a title shot Woodley is 1-1 in his last 2 with the win coming over a top 20. Alves is the right guy. Both of them would be tested and Alves hasn't fought in a while.
