Dana White facing disaster after McGregor-Mayweather

"Dumb luck didn’t build the UFC into a $5 billion company, after entertainment giant WME-IMG purchased it off ZUFFA in 2016. At the time, the UFC had plenty of stars, Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey — and others were emerging all the time, such as young fighters Paige VanZant and Cody Garbrandt. Fast forward to today and the UFC is left with one — McGregor - and he hasn’t fought for the company since November 2016."

Ronda was destroyed.
Holly made a name off her but crashed fast.
Jones destroyed himself.
Aldo got destroyed.
The Dominator got dominated.
Anderson Silva got KTFO.
Mighty Mouse still hasn't figured out how to make himself popular.
Stipe is still not a big draw.
Woodley has no idea how unpopular he is.
Bisping admits he's about one fight from retirement.
Lesnar ruined himself and left.
Cody is still green.
Whittaker is still new at the top/not a big name.
Nunes isn't a big star.
Joanna is not there yet.

White had only one big star and he fed him to Mayweather.

Besides GSP (if/when he returns), is Conor the only big star in the UFC?

TS forgot someone:

The future of MMA

white doesnt care about building stars, he thinks he is the star but nobody in the world cares about his existence.
I'd be happy if he retired

Conor has lost 2 out of his last three fights. If he loses his next fight, prepare for tomato red Dana again.

Better yet. Fuck it.

Theres some people with potential, but they are no where near conor.

lol @ anyone who thinks Conor's star shines less brightly because of the Mayweather fight.

Get real.

Joana, cody & max i wouldn't count out yet, way too skilled & fun to watch that i can't rule them out of becoming future stars.

Sure.

Just like like when Chuck left...when GSP left...when Brock left...when Jones got sent packing...when BJ stopped winning...etc.,...etc.

they could easily market Stipe and Bisping to make them stars

they just won't bother even if it costs them money in the long run

They are so risk-averse to promoting fighters out of a fear the fighters become bigger than the brand.....they are actually hurting their own brand with this approach, IMO.....

People still hold Max's loss to Conor against him, which is unfair. I don't see anyone at 145 beating him anytime soon

I'm not saying I agree, but when Lorenzo says they're promoting the UFC name and not the fighters, they eventually end up with a sea of interchangeable names, none of whom can draw on their own.

They could definitely push Nate harder. He's got the it factor. And garbrandt as well. The ufc is all in on conor and he pretty much had to build himself. Now he doesn't need the ufc.
