Just wanted to extend some praise to the most recent batch of eggs I purchased: Super Jumbo. So far, 5 out of 6 have had double yolks. Eat the damn yolks. Amen.

I bought a carton of large eggs yesterday. All were normal size except one. It barely fight in the container. It was more like an ostrich egg. It tasted great this morning. I was surprised it only had one yolk tho the yolk was massive!

damn, i wish we had super-jumbo eggs around here, they don't come no larger than large.

Do they come from juiced up chickens? One has to wonder what's up w/ giant chicken babies.

i wouldint eat that shit

I wouldn't either. There's something genetically wrong if 5 out of 6 giant eggs have two yolks. They could be modifying them for mass production, trying to get two for one. Who knows what else they've done? A little scary if you ask me.

I have eaten large/jumbo but it seems to me the mediums have better taste.

does anybody eat duck eggs? I get them from a guy down the street...they are some jumbo eggs.....

In Brasil they would serve these tiny eggs. (I don't remember the type of bird)

Took about 30 to make a decent omelet but they were tasty.

Maybe quail? Were they white with small dark spots? I drank one raw in orange juice when I was younger while in Mexico.

Yes duck eggs are fantastic. I have had them as a treat from time to time.
as well as duck meat and goose meat.

but as far as the yokes go....I would not be consuming that too often.

in Australia we just eat Ostrich eggs....

They looked something like that.

Must have been some version of the Brasilian quail.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with double-yolked eggs. It is simply a double ovulation on the chickens part. The egg white and shell are added in the exact same fashion as any other egg. They are just put in cartons together because eggs are sorted and packaged based on weight. Nothing genetically modified or anything like that.
