Why the UFC does have a limit for heavyweight division, and doesn't have a Super heavyweight division? Is this a Nevada State Athletic Commission thing? And if so, the UFC can make super heavyweight division fights in other states/countries, no? I'm sure there are a lot of good fighters is that weight class, and it is probably more entertaining than watching WMMA.

because SHW sucks in terms of talent.

Thinly veiled WMMA hate thread, and a particularly shit one at that if you have to bring up SHW.

They don't need a shw. But I'd like to see the 265 ceiling removed from hw

You are the one hating on SHW. They probably have much much more talent than MMA.
PS Do you know how many famous HW cut weight just to be in the UFC?
PS2 Don't be egocentric.

I have no interest in seeing big huge guys who don't have to worry about making weight gassing out at the 1:50 mark of the 1st rd just throwing hammers with minimal skillz solely dependent on their physical size.

Really? Can you name that talent?

And yeah, they cut because then they can potentially have a size advantage over the smaller fighters, just like HW's do and go to LHW, LHW to MW and so on. Plus the fact the division gets no mainstream coverage unless you count occasionally having fights in KOTC. As mentioned Cardio is also fucking garbage in that division. The list goes on. believe me there is NO talent at SHW.

People cutting weight is not an excuse.

No point in having a SHW division, everyone already knows who the GOAT is

Tony Lopez is [afaik] the SHW champion in the biggest promotion that "offers" the SHW division. He's held it since 2011 and has 1 defense. Tony Lopez with that 1 defence GOAT

UFC SHW tourney would be awesome, Yarbough vs Giant Silva, Butterbean vs Tony Lopez for the championship.

I don't care to see this. The gassing would be even worse that HW's. There aren't really any huge prospects out there to make this a feasible division IMO.

Why they cut weight to have a size advantage when they can stay in a weight class that sucks in terms of talent.. this what you said first, remember? You funny.

/palm

That division isn't offered in ANY mainstream promotions. That, combined with having size advantage is why people cut.

Are you best buds with some fat redneck dude in your trailer park who weighs like 280lbs, doesn;t know shit about cutting and wants to be "doin' that cage fightin' shit" or something?

What needs to be added is a Cruiserweight Division at 225lbs. I don't see why the difference for most weight classes is 10-15 lbs then you have LHW at 205 and HW at 265.

I like the idea of a Super Heavyweight Division, provided they can gather enough talent for that roster. Fighters can be 265 lbs. & Up.

Brock Lesnar can come in at 295, which is what he weighs for his WWE appearances.
Antonio Silva used to fight at approximately 300 lbs. in the past.
Mark Hunt won't have to worry about making 265 lbs.

The knock on Women's MMA wasn't necessary, by the way.
I just think that it's stupid to refer to the 135 lb. Women's division as Bantamweight. Does that mean that a woman fighting at 185 lbs. would be a Middleweight? Of course not.
