Evans is slated to return to the light heavyweight division after having a brief run at middleweight to take on Anthony Smith at the upcoming UFC 225 pay-per-view event.

It was also noted that Smith has also signed a new contract with the promotion. Just like Evans, Smith is also moving up to light heavyweight.

I think it might not be a good idea.

He got his butt beat by one of my favorite fighters, Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida. He might have to fight him again and I don't think it will turn out good for Rashad Evans.

This Evans Smith fight will be worse than Ashlee Evans Smith.

Ehhhh, Machida isn't the same fighter he was back then (neither is Evans) but it's a toss up.

Honestly guys, Rashad sucks so bad now. I am a fan of the guy and i don't want to watch him fight anymore. He is totally gun shy and just does nothing in the cage. Anthony is way taller longer younger and hungrier with deceptively good standup. I think a 6'4 205lb Anthony Smith will be way too big and strong for Rashad. Smith by tko.
 
I'd need some Jones level dick pillz to get excited at Rashad fighting again.
 
Rashad has been showing up for paychecks. I would pick almost anyone on the roster at MW or LHW over Rashad at this point.
 
sad to see his decline - esp when he was so confident/cocky at one point - now you can see him doubting himself at times and its a bit sad - good on him to keep competing if he thinks its right - i am sure everyone is telling him to retire but he probably has something left to prove to himself - he hasnt gotten really beaten down too many times, just twice by dragon and glover

So smith is moving up to LHW too?
 
Yeah...he should probably retire. I don't see him rekindling any sort of lost magic by fighting at 205 again. As another poster already said, he just can't seem to pull the trigger anymore. He also seems like he's scared to get hit.

His weight isn't his problem, and I doubt a move back to 205 does anything except give us another Shadface.
 
Evans is a shell of his former self and should have retired years ago,
 
Meh, I've always liked Rashad but when you're losing to guys like Sam Alvey and Daniel Kelly, it's time to hang up the gloves.
