27K MPH ? Holy crap. I didn't think that speed was possible, let alone that humans could handle those speeds?

It's not the speed, it's the acceleration that you have to worry about. For example, the g force is nothing in a space shuttle compared to say a top fuel dragster. In fact Brittany Force (professional drag racer) just set the quickest run to the 1/8th mile @ 303 MPH in 2.9 seconds. That's some serious acceleration.
