Submission Only Virginia Beach - March 21st - US Grappling

This might be a good one for me to come back to competition with - less pressure with a sub only, and not too far from home. Hopefully I can make it out!

Would be great to get you back on the competition mats!

May have to make my way down there. Had a lot of fun at the Richmond one in December.

Yep, some matches last hours.

goatfury will be by shortly to drop some scientific knowledge on match times.

Unfortunately not going to make it :( traveling for work.

But sub-only is a ton of fun, for anyone on the fence. And I've had two matches go for over an hour before (in two separate competitions) plus a couple under 2 min. It's fun either way!

We'll miss you again! :)

Just wanna bump this thread to give props to Andrew and the rest of the US grappling crew. Super well run tournament today and sub only is always a fun format.

Glad you had fun! How many matches did you have?

Just out of curiosity, do you have all the datapoints (on a match level) in a spreadsheet somewhere? As a statistician, I'd be interested in seeing this.

I'm not 100% sure exactly what data Chrissy has compiled, but check out www.submissiononly.com for some of the more general stuff (by event).
