This guy burned Home Depot to the ground. He loaded a shopping cart with tools then started a fire on an aisle to cause a distraction so he could sneak out with the cart of tools. Ended up burning down Home Depot and causing 14 million dollars in damage. Faces 14 years to life in prison for aggravated arson, grand theft etc....

Have you been to that Home Depot? We've got like 5 more here, but it was massive.

I was mostly upset about the animal shelter having to be evacuated.

That dudes a piece a shit and this is a terrible story but I gotta think that Home Depot may not have been up to code if some tweaker can light a match and set off a chain of destruction that could be seen from space

Yeah when I worked in construction I stopped by there a few times. I was also upset about the pet hospital.

At least no one was hurt. In my grilling days I would always go to Home Depot for gas canisters, that could have been a catastrophe if they'd all gone up.

It does have a disproportionate amount of stuff that burns very well. If this happened at a Kidde warehouse I'd have some questions.

They must not have any sprinkler systems. I assume the building code required them.

Apparently they never came on.

Fire departments usually inspect them annually and most local laws require them to be tested annually by a certified contractor.

He should get no less than 20 years.

14 mil in damage, not to mention he could have potentially cost many, many lives.

Surely there is much more than $14 million in damage. Taking into account 2022 prices, complete loss of the building and contents. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closer to $100 million.

I would think so too. On the news they mentioned 14 million but later said tens of millions
