I got some Rite Aid fish oil capsules. They've been in my fridge for about a month, But i just noticed inside some of the capsules there is a foggy looking "cloud"? Is that a BAD thing? Anyone else have this? :icon_conf

Bite it, if it's rancid you'll know. From the sounds of it it's bad though, the liquid should be clear. Better idea cut it and smell it, mildly fishy smell is ok, if it stinks bad it is bad.

This is actually quite common when the oil is refrigerated. It will get cloudy. The safest thing to do is bite into one and see if it tastes rancid.

hmmm i've never had mine turn cloudy at all. the outside will get some condensation on it when i've had them in a cold place and brought them out.

Mine turn "cloudy" when I have them in the freezer. They turn back to clear when I let them thaw out. Having them next to the fridge wall or keeping your fridge too cold could be causing them to freeze.

Mine in the fridge turn cloudy as well, once it's outside it goes back to clear.

Cloudy and solid when mine are in the freezer

Same as everyone else, some of parts of the oil crystalize, it should go away when they thaw. Nothing to worry about.

that happens to mine too when refrigerated. Takes about 15 seconds in my hands to become clear again.

I dont even keep mine in the fridge but its a good thing to know.

Yeah if you freeze them they turn cloudy, but then they turn clear again....

You are all shameless postwhores.

Are you supposed to keep fish oil in the fridge? I have not heard of this.

Just wondering how necessary keeping tablets in a fridge/freezer actually is. I've kept tablets in a cupboard for more than 3 months without any hint of rancidity.

How do these things sit on a well-lit, warm store shelf and not go bad for so long?
