A former nursing student claims Misericordia University officials in Dallas, Pa. violated federal disability laws after she failed a course

Doesn't she realize that nursing is a high-stress profession? Is she going to request a "distraction-free" environment when the ER is jam packed and people are dying in the waiting room?

I don't think she would be good in the ER if you want no pressure. She might be able to check vitals in a hospital but I don't know.

She may want to work at nursing homes, or on medsurg floors, or in doctor's offices. There are less stressful nursing positions.

Lawsuit is ridiculous of course.

Is she actually disabled or is she just an attention whore calling her anxiety a disability?

Sounds like she is a perfect fit for a degree in woman's studies.

She is so lazy that she needs to sue to get a degree

This story led me to a link of an even more aggravating story about a 21 year old girl who successfully sued her parents to pay her college tuition in NJ.

Are there actually laws that say parents have to pay for their adult kids to go to college? *if they can afford it* because college is a necessity? Which of course, it isn't. That's sick.

I would classify severe anxiety as a disability worthy of certain accommodations. This seemingly frivolous lawsuit doesn't exactly go far to defend that argument, though.

Sounds like she is a perfect fit for a degree in woman's studies.

Clearly this is a related issue and you're not just awkwardly forcing your usual championing of all things sexism.

Nothing new here, in the 70s a student sued UW-Madison for not allowing him back into law school because of his disability (alcohol)

It's easy to get testing accommodation if you've anything verifiable. If she tried to call her instructor to set it up last minute, that's her failure not the school's.

if the school promised her that a professor would be present and so forth and did not live up to their side of the bargain i would say she actually has a case.
