You gotta appreciate this guy. I read about the heart problems and all that and its sad, because he's still young and one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC in my opinion. Sure he has glaring holes in his game, but every fight he is in is sure-fire awesome and I would pay to see him fight every time.
You dont need to win every fight to be considered great and Stefan Struve is GREAT. I hope he fights again, but only if it wouldn't compromise his health. He is like the Joe Lauzon of the HW division. His career has been amazing thus far win or loss:

    - highlight reel KO loss to Mark Hunt in very memorable back-and-forth fight. Would have easily been FOTN if Wandy and Stann didn't turn in that performance.

    - Miocic FOTN, highlight reel KO

    - Lavar Johnson SOTN

    - Dave Herman tko (who doesn't like seeing this guy get wrecked?)

    - Pat Barry SOTN

    - Travis Browne highlight reel KO loss

    - Mcorkle/morecraft can crush sessions were very entertaining

    - highlight reel KO losses to Roy Nelson and JDS (helped establish two top 10 HW mainstays)

He'll never be GOAT, but he will always be one of the best.

Very entertaining, respectful fighter. Always rooted for Struve, he should have been built up more IMO instead of being thrown to the wolves. I wish him a full recovery

Agree with your comment of building him up more. Very young fighter in every respect and tons of heart in his fights. I always enjoyed watching his fights and think TS is spot on with this thread.

Yup he always put on a show and showed tons of heart. It was baffling he never learned to use his reach but he was always a blast to watch, really can't recall him ever being in a boring fight.

Struve is awesome! One of my favorite heavyweights. Highlight reel win or lose. He is the Ricky Bobby of the heavyweight division.

Was never top tier but put on some great fights. When he lost, unfortunately it was spectacular.

Yeah I hope he makes it back. Would be a shame to end a career so young.

I really wanted to see the potential fight against big nog

the last interview I read, Struve seemed pretty determined to return to fighting, but Dana thinks otherwise

He damn well better come back, he is one of the most exciting fighters HW has ever had. If the heart condition beats him I'll be heart-broken (pun not intended.). Still he's a tough kid and I firmly believe he's gonna make it back!

He should quit mma. Too many big KO's. he is 7'00" and far more athletic than most tall nba guys. He'd make an nba roster even if just for defense and a back up nba center makes more than all but the top fighters.

I love Struve as my signiture says my favorite heavy weight but I think he's my favorite fighter. Win or lose Struve has only every disapointed me once, he looked absolutely aweful against Mark Hunt. I couldn't understand how he could have gassed in the first round... he never gasses and is often a slow starter. I guess the heart thing explained that... though the explaination is even worse than the disapointment that it cleared up. I hope that he can fight again and that he will be able to fight at close to the same level as before.

always liked struve, but he couldve been much more successful if he had learned to use his length more instead of getting into brawls

I haven't heard much about whether his condition is a permanent end to his career. I am curious though. I know Dan Hardy has a similar situation going on. Same with Brian Foster, only he was able to get fights outside the org.

He was fun to watch, and definitely classy win or lose. It's tough being a top fighter if you don't have heart ....unfortunately he has a lot of heart (mentally)....just physical problems with the one born with. Wish he used his height/range better in fights though for sure.
