... and DC would still beat him.

For anyone wondering if height and reach are an advantage.. Here's some math:

67% of the US male population is 5'9" or taller. 17% of American men are exactly 5'9". 17% * 150 million = 25.5 million American men are exactly 5'9". 1 in a million American men are 7' or taller. 150 American men are 7' or taller.

Not even including men taller than 5'9", but just 5'9" men only -- there are 170,000 American men exactly Daniel Cormier's height for every American man Struve's height or taller.

The ratio of men exactly Daniel Cormier's height that fight at HW in the UFC compared to men Struve's height or taller is just 1:1. Being 7' or taller is giving Struve close to a 17,000,000% advantage over being exactly 5'9". That's quite an advantage.

I'm only calculating it that way because 7' guys are so rare that the difference between the number of 7' guys and 7'+ guys is pretty meaningless.

When you take into account that 7'+ men are drawn to basketball, that number rises quite a bit more. DC's as good as a 5'9" athlete gets. Struve is pretty bad even for a 7' guy.

I feel like that's a lot of text to tell us something we already know?

Scott Steiner has a 66 and 2/3rds percent chance of winning at Sacrifice

I have a 10000000000000000x tardation

God shut up. Of COURSE height and reach are an advantage. But just because you have the tools, doesnt mean you can use them well enough to make the difference. Or maybe you can,and the shorter guy is just better and/or gets off first.

Being tall is not always an advantage. It's not volleyball or basketball.

Mike Tyson says hi.

Struve's achilles heel is tubby short guys.

didn't struve had a height advantage over mark hunt? he wound up with a broken jaw and his jaw was like twenty feet away at all times.

Pretty sure TS is under 5'9"

He is still learning how to control it tho. Give him time.

Struve is the tallest UFC HW of all time and has been KO'd by two of the shortest UFC HWs of all time in Big Country and Mark Hunt. Struve's reach should be a huge asset but he's always been terrible at actually utilizing it.

Everyone knows height is an advantage. But everyone downplays just how much of an advantage it is. People think of height and reach as something that just gives a fighter something extra in his toolkit but that a short fighter can overcome it with hard work.

That's just not true.

Height and reach are so important that it takes 170,000 5'9" people to overcome the advantage of just one 7' person. Everyone thinks it's like 3:1 or 10:1 or something. It's not even close. It's 170,000:1. It's that skewed.

Fedor is as powerful as 170,000 people, but we already knew that. Champ champ's up there too.

Height and reach is and advantage when both fighter are from the same skill set. But DC against Struve I think its a disadvantage. DC wants to be the fat short lil guy. Getting inside when the size is that different is actually easier. And once DC gets inside it will be TD city.

Yet you say DC would still win? How would DC fit 170k 5'9" guys into the Octagon to "overcome the advantage" that can't be overcome through hard work and skills? I wonder how the fuck Hong Man Choi lost to Minowaman and Fedor...or anyone with all that advantage he had.

Pretend you have a robot manufacturing line and the goal is to make UFC HW fighters.

To get 1 UFC HW fighter, you have to manufacture 25.5 million 5'9" robots. The other 25.49 million are rejects.

To get 1 UFC HW fighter, you have to manufacture 150 7' robots. Many of the other 149 go do stuff that's even harder than MMA.

Do you know how different 25.5 million is from 150? 25,500,000-150=25,499,850....... That's a lot of fucking failures. Being 5'9 is that bad.

DC is so low Struve has to use his thumbs to get shitty underhooks in.
