Until this happens, his retirement isn't official. He needs to be stripped and the Aldo/Edgar fight needs to be promoted to a real championship fight.
Letting a champion take two fights two weight classes above the one he holds a belt in that he has still yet to defend seems "legit"...Strip him of the 145 title for "skipping promos" for a non-title fight 2 weight classes higher?
Didn't say I agreed with it or that it even makes sense, but if they've let it go this far already then it seems to defeat the purpose.Letting a champion take two fights two weight classes above the one he holds a belt in that he has still yet to defend seems "legit"...
This is a bit further. you left out the part where he declared himself retired. As in, unable to or unwilling to fight anymore, nevermind defending the belt.Didn't say I agreed with it or that it even makes sense, but if they've let it go this far already then it seems to defeat the purpose.
If he's actually retired, I'm down. The brass doesn't seem to be acknowledging his earlier tweet so until then I say he keeps the belt. This is a bit further. you left out the part where he declared himself retired. As in, unable to or unwilling to fight anymore, nevermind defending the belt.
