I trian Muay Thai. ..but ive never been very flexible to kick high. What are good stetches to kick very high and how long would i have to stretch for to be able to see some results in my high kicks... Thanks

You dont have to be ultra flexible to perform good strong high roundhouse (I assume) kicks.
Learn technique, keep practising, be flexible in general.

Follow Van Dammnes stretching routine from the movie Bloodsport. Nah seriously depending on how old you are and your genetic disposition it could take some time. I would suggest lots of axe kicks as well as the spits to all 3 directions (front and 2 sides). Its gonna take time.

try some balistic stretches, aka stretching kicks. just kick straight up and high with a straight leg.

tkd guys and gymnasts dopractice that. I don't think i know any pure mt guys that do.

Stretching is good. But also try to just practice high kicking a lot. My flexibility is worse than your average guy, but I have a pretty good high roundhouse kick.

Check out those threads, there's a lot of knowledge in there.

Just make sure to not expect your flexibility to increase over night. These things take time.

flexibility will come over time but for performing roundhouse kicks you dont need to be realy flexible, you just need good technique. these things come over time though, just be patient and stretch twice a day

dynamic stretching, lots of passive stretching (ie. get the splits in spite of what other people says it helps alot.), practice lots of high kicks, and lift weights. im 5'6 and can hit 6'4 people in the head with round kicks. im so used to kicking high that when i fight someone my own size i actually kick over their head sometimes, but since im soo used to kicking reallly high kicking someone my own height in the head i can generate just as much power as when i throw a body kick.
