Strange things found in the woods

i grew up in germany as a kid......porn was littered in the woods.
 
I grew up on a road 10 miles into the Cascade Mountains from town, with very few neighbors along our road. We used to go play and hunt up into the woods, and one day, under a GIANT, gnarly oak tree in a clearing, I found a thin, rusty cable tied all the way around the tree's base,threaded thru a BIG pigs skull. You could tell it'd been there for 30-40 years, as the tree had grown lips that covered the wire in most spots. It was like the old tree was wearing a tight, pig skull necklace.

I found out like 10 years later that it was from a game warden who was luring in a cougar that was causing fatalities among an adjacent farmers cows and chickens back in the 60's.

On that same property I also found two WWII-era Tank tank shells (each about 2ft long) that somebody had painted ducks and pastures on.
 
My dad and I went squirrel hunting in the woods not too far from my boyhood home. We were on someone elses' property but my dad put a $5 in their mailbox so they were cool. We had trekked for a bit, went deep into the woods and we found...

A grave that was marked with the date of death...
With the EXACT same date, month, and year as my birth. I've always felt that they died to make room for me...
 
Working as a wildland firefighter, I've seen share of odd things.

In one fire, there was tons of petrified dead animals that either try to hide from the fire or wasn't able to escape the fire. It literally look like it was alive when dark cement got poured on it! It become almost a game to find the next dead animal!
Also occasion animals skeleton were found.

Found a single half melt boot (NOT firefighter or forest worker boot for sure) in a burned forest far in middle of no where. It was so far in middle of no where that there wasn't even any other litter or sign of human activity or anything. May not weird, but the location and situation made it rather weird.

Once found a bag full of dildos as well.

I grew up in Germany too. Funny thing is I always used to have a pron stash in the woods before I got the means to stash them at home. Hardcore German pron is like the solution to all lifes problems when you're 10, you took every precaution when hiding that shit.
 
Just the usual used condoms and broken beer bottles in the woods around my house (saying woods is kind of a stretch, more like a couple of acres of trees maintained by the city). Oh, and ghost children :)

I wish I did actually have a real forest in my area. My dog loves going through the trails and sniffing for squirrels, rabbits etc.
 
I've stumbled across many pot plants in the woods. Also found dangerous traps around some of them. Scumbags willing to maim people over a couple of ounces of weed.

That was an epic thread lol and I actually thought of it before posting this... I figured people wouldn't believe me and would troll rather than actually adding to the conversation.
 
A friend and I nearly burned down the majority of the preserve near my house many years ago when I was 12. We both went into the woods with a bottle of solvent based glue and a lighter, we were putting the glue over some leafs and burning them. I was holding the glue bottle in my hands when I dropped it and a massive amount of it spilled all over the place, within seconds other leafs caught wire and we tried stomping it out only making it worse.

Got to the point where we couldn't do anything to stop the spread of it. Got on our bicycles and high tailed it out of there. A good 5 minutes later when we got out of the place we saw a massive amount of smoking billowing into the air and what looked like flames. Ended up hearing sirens and a few fire trucks drive down the road followed by a police car. The police officer in the car stopped next to us and asked if we knew anything about the smoke and fire. I lied, said we were coming back from the pizza place, stopped and saw the fire and were intrigued.

Never again did I ever do something that stupid

The safe was one of those decent sized concrete ones and it was all locked up, we tried to open it up for like 2 years by just doing random shit to it with explosives and all that but we never got it open

It's still back in our yard and we've kinda forgot about it but sometimes I still wonder if there's anything in there lol, we should prolly try to get it opened proffesionaly but that's no fun

For all we know we've had a dead body, a million dollars or nothing in our backyard for 10 years lol

me and my friends were walking through the woods one time just looking for things to shoot, went down to the creek and found a dildo.........needless to say i shot it with a 12 gauge

I'm surprised by the sheer number of dildos found in this thread. What causes these items to be discarded with such reckless abandon? Think of all the years of love and companionship they've provided. Only to be tossed aside like an old used dildo.
