Nickel price is starting to make some big jumps. Almost every week there is some news pumping the price up.

Producers' stock prices have been climbing.

I was tempted to take some profits when Ardea first jumped up, but there was so little volume at the time I didn't feel like messing with it. I expect nickel prices to soar at some point in the next year or two, so I'm fine with just holding for now.

Gold and gold miners been doing really good too. I think silver is actually outperforming gold now.

@asdffdsa can you recommend any nickel stocks on American exchanges?

Ok, I actually found Norilsk on OTC I can buy. It is up 45% on the year and has a 10% dividend.

BHP is Australian and does nickel but also does other things. The stock is down.

Then there is Vale

Vale S.A., the biggest in nickel
Like BHP Billiton, Vale has interests in the production of numerous commodities such as coal, manganese, cobalt, precious metals, and platinum-group metals. But the company may garner the most attention for iron ore and nickel, since it's the world's largest producer of each. Expecting to remain an industry leader in nickel production, Vale estimates it will average annual nickel production of 268,000 metric tons from 2018 through 2022.

Then there is the nickel ETF which has done great but has low volume.

Yeah I've been looking at some gold to. I bought Caledonia Mining (CMCL) at around $5.60. Right now it's just under 7. At today's gold prices their profits in 2021 won't be much lower the current market cap, so it should do fine even if this run in gold price is short lived. At say $1200/oz gold the current share price would give them a PE of less than 2.

It seems like a lot of the precious metals guys are focusing on silver. I guess the gold to silver price ratio is on the high side. I found a company, Brixton Metals, with some decent silver properties and my instinct was to grab up some shares but unfortunately I discovered it a bit late. Had already gone up 300 percent in about a month. Going to keep an eye on it tho.

Well that was depressing. The shot with the dead tree at 5:17 looked cool tho chilling. Mining is a dirty business. Nickel can be particularly bad.

As far as the other nickel producers I'm not sure what percent of their revenue is from nickel. I had an article that broke down revenue by commodity, but I can't find it. I believe for Norilsk it is roughly 30% nickel, 1/3 palladium, the rest is precious metals, copper, and whatever else . I know BHP also has iron, petroleum, and copper. Vale might be more highly leveraged to nickel and cobalt prices than BHP, which could be a good thing. Vale had massive disaster with a dam collapsing earlier this year. I'm not sure what risk if any is still associated with that. BHP and Vale are both increasing nickel production soon.

There are others like Eramet, Xstrata, Sumitomo Metal mining that might be worth checking out. I don't know enough about them. Nickel looks like a good investment opportunity over the next 5-10 years tho.

Ardea Resources (chart above) up another 15 percent early in upside down land.

I'm sure you know, this could be for others, that Australian dollar and gold have pretty strong relationship. May buy some Australian dollars as a hedge.

AUD etf. Aren't we in a strange situation because both the US dollar and gold are strong?

I'm thinking about investing in Australia in general. ETF has a 4% yield.

Time to learn Forex

CHF: Despite its safe-haven appeal, traders have been net-short the Swiss franc for two years. However, at the current rate of trajectory, this could be about to change. Net-short exposure was reduced by 22% last week, from 11.2k to 3.8k short exposure. Moreover, we noted that CHF generally performs well in September according to seasonality of the past 30-years, so we’re keep to see if it follows its historic path this year too.

i love sherdog. the most incompetent trader i've seen outside of loss porn on wsb makes the stock market threads and is so oblivious regarding his prowess that he posts screenshots of people on discord calling him out.

protip: the most logical conclusions one can draw from your posts is that you're either trying to manipulate or you're simply incompetent. the latter is the inevitable conclusion.
