Stipe's first title defence and how long do you see him staying at the top against the competition?

I think it's awesome Stipe won the title again last weekend, we have a new HW champion and an awesome one in that with Stipe Miocic.

However I was wondering who you guys feel you'd like to have his first title defence? The obvious is probably NGannou though I'd like you to say from your personal opinion on who you would like to see (NOT who it's going to be, which fight makes sense) a personal title defence you would like to see the most?

Also in regards to the competition who do you feel would be the biggest threat to Stipe in regards to taking the title?

Just to remind you guys who's in the division (obviously this is needs to be updated).

Daniel Cormier
Francis Ngannou
Junior Dos Santos
Curtis Blaydes
Derrick Lewis
Alexander Volkov
Alistair Overeem
Cain Velasquez
Shamil Abdurakhimov
Blagoy Ivanov
Walt Harris
Aleksei Oleinik
Tai Tuivasa
Marcin Tybura
Augusto Sakai

I think Jones will actually want to fight Stipe now after DC lost, just to prove a point. Jones will UD or t/ko Stipe.

Francis is the only person I could see winning. Still picking Stipe in that one though

Cain Velasquez

Cain is doing bigger and better things..

Far from his first defense. He lost the title to a great gameplan from DC combined with an eye poke. This will be his fifth defense attempt.

The Ngnannou rematch should be interesting and might go very differently. A DC trilogy should also be even more interesting. Seeing how DC might opt for a more wrestling heavy approach.

Thread derailed!

Dont get these girlies going so early lol

I think Stipe makes a run for another record and Jones stays at LHW.

I’d like some fresh matchups eventually. Too bad volkov got derailed by Lewis

Do you reckon? That'd be interesting for sure :)

I was thinking the same, looking at the list I'm not sure who could beat him but we see alsorts in MMA so it's really hard to tell, I have the same sentiments though.

DC possibly in a rematch but I'm not sure DC is going to, I think he's taking some time off from what I can gather though I could be wrong.

Obviously this means on this title reign, we know he's had the title before.

Damn the UFC heavyweight division is weak af at the moment...

Yeah, I got the impression DC might be taking some time off though from his octagon interview with Rogan, I'm not sure though but this would be good also :)

A dream fight of mine would be Stipe & Alexander Volkov. I think Volkov could give the champ similar problems to what Struve did.

It also depends if Ngannou gets into his Fast and Furious run too, he could get some tips from Vin Diesel and The Rock lol

Yeah, I like these unexpected fights too rather than the obvious, sometimes these can be the better one's and surprise us.

If only we had someone like Santos in the division too (in theory), someone new who would go in and really smash in the fight.

As I say, fresh competition would be good as the HW could do with stirring up a little.

Ya, Volkov is #3 behind Ngannou & DC in terms of skill, though losing to Beast set him back a few rungs on the ladder.

But, he also pulled out of his last fight, and last I heard we didn't know why. Not good.
