On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, when asked whether he feels the UFC wants Ngannou to win their main event bout, the usually unflappable Miocic answered vigorously in the affirmative.

“Obviously, for sure,” Miocic said. “Listen, I feel a little bit disrespected, but I’m not going to dwell on it.”
“He’s got more hype on him I guess,” Miocic said. “The guy hits super hard. We’re making a big thing about it. I’ve fought some good guys, you know? That’s how we are. I’m not much of a trash talker I just like to fight, that’s what I do.”

If anything, the champ believes the buildup, with its emphasis on Ngannou as the next big star, shifts all the pressure heading into Boston on the upstart challenger.

“All the pressure is on him, honestly. … The best guys he’s faced, I knocked them out two years ago. So, whatever.”

States is happy with new contract and they have looked after him in that regard.

I could go on, but with Ngannou you have a thick solid heavyweight, I mean SOLID muscle mass (which is not common at all in the UFC HW division), highest punching power ever recorded by the UFC, he was once living in poverty and MMA changed his life, knocking guys out right and left, never went the distance in any of his 11 wins... I mean he's the perfect, marketable HW for the UFC right now and we haven't seen that much since Cain was the Champion or Pre USADA JDS was champion.

Ngannou is the UFC's golden boy rn and the more they promote him and the more he just goes in and destroys these guys, the bigger his profile gets.

On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, when asked whether he feels the UFC wants Ngannou to win their main event bout, the usually unflappable Miocic answered vigorously in the affirmative.

“Obviously, for sure,” Miocic said. “Listen, I feel a little bit disrespected, but I’m not going to dwell on it.”
“He’s got more hype on him I guess,” Miocic said. “The guy hits super hard. We’re making a big thing about it. I’ve fought some good guys, you know? That’s how we are. I’m not much of a trash talker I just like to fight, that’s what I do.”

If anything, the champ believes the buildup, with its emphasis on Ngannou as the next big star, shifts all the pressure heading into Boston on the upstart challenger.

“All the pressure is on him, honestly. … The best guys he’s faced, I knocked them out two years ago. So, whatever.”

States is happy with new contract and they have looked after him in that regard.

Do you think the UFC is hoping Miocic loses his title? I for one hope Miocic derails this train and sticks it to them.

i always hate ariels interviews with stipe, its 75% ariel talking to stipe about how far he has come with his talking, as if he is a PTSD sufferer who went mute. i'm not sure if patronising is quite the right word, its more like ariel is slightly autistic. kinda feels like when he is talking to a fighter who barely speaks english and expresses himself in convoluted ways using terms they have no hope of understanding, he seems to have very little awareness of other's perspective and just says the dumbest shit at times

The Hype was real so it wasn't just a Hype Train like Sage or other fighters. Ronda was very successfull and then she lost by KO big deal, happens to every fighter. Only in MMA, the "fans" will say it was hype and the fighter got exposed, only fought cans... Her career wasn't just hype that was my point dude and I don't think you realized it too.
