Cain lost his belt this is truth but it was not the real Cain. That cain fought in Mexico where he fought in a land where it is over 1000 feet above sea level and there is less air available. He also did not take the air there seriously since he is known for his cardio but it did not work for him and it did for Werdum.

Can King Cain make it to the fight though?

Absolutely incorrect. Part of being the King is being able to defend your belt and Cain clearly cant make that happen.

Thanks for the tremendous analysis.

Cain is done mate....

Oh, pulleeeeze. Cain legitimately lost his title twice. (Yes, I know he won it back from JDS.) But since losing to Werdum, he's only fought once and that was a year and a half ago. It's not like he's really in the picture except for people reminiscing about how good he was. Which he was, but c'mon, what have you done for me lately?

He deserved to lose his belt...Werdum went there early to train and acclimate himself, Cain didn't. It's just as bad as taking an opponent lightly. And before he gasses Werdum was getting the better of the striking anyway. MMA is about match ups and Werdum is a bad match up for Cain and IMO Stipe is a worse match up for him. Too bad he will never stay healthy enough to make that fight happen because Stipe is gonna stop DC in the 3rd or 4th.

Cain has 1 win in the past 4.5 years and it was against a journeyman Travis Browne. The Cain that beat Bigfoot and jds that everyone thought was great probably doesn’t exist anymore.

I really hope Cain makes it back to the octagon. Only problem is that if he loses to Stipe people will still discredit Stipe with "Prime Cain would've won".

It's so obvious that it's kindof sad.

So what you going to say when he wins it back?

In the last 7 years Cain has beat Bigfoot, JDS and Travis Browne. You really think he's still the man?

Cain spent 3 years on the shelf while he was champion.

There is just not a large enough sample of data to claim Cain is King.

If you take those 3 injured years off Cain's resume.....his career isnt much more impressive than Tim Sylvia's....

The level of Stipe's competition has been so iffy even Cain might not be enough. Won the title from doom, that's legit. But JDS and Overeem have no chins anymore and Fedor ate guys like Ngannou - big, tough, powerful and nothing else - for breakfast.

I feel like Cain's injuries and his maulings of JDS took away the two best fighters of this particular time.
