Now he loss by Ko every people will say : He passed his prime, and 6 month before they said he was at his best against DC 3 !

For me, in this fight ( against Ngannou ) he was at his physical prime ( iron chin, very fast, move very well ) but not at his tactical and technical prime ( i was very surprising )

- His fight IQ was very poor : stay in line against Ngannou, rushed against Ngannou ( very ridiculous ) and made a very wenby takedown at the begining

- His mental : He wasn't ready for the war and wasn't fighting spirit

It was an evidence Ngannou would be better than the first time, and i am sur with a better fight IQ and mental, Stipe would win this fight, Ngannou cardio began to be low and Stipe could have advantage at this moment

He didn't look great in the 3rd DC fight at all, I don't know where you heard people say he looked his best, whoever said that is clearly braindead.

In his last loss his fight IQ fell off a cliff after he got dropped, and when he rushed forward he was already rocked himself and thought he hurt Francis.

People can still lose and get knocked out in their primes, especially at heavyweight, Stipe is definitely past it since he's nearing 40.

Honestly I think he's deserving of a rematch at some stage given how great a champ he has been. It's not like he's been on a signidicant decline!!!! Not sure he wants it. We won't know if he'll ever return the same as he was until we actually witness it. Not a foregone conclusion some make out!

I think the same ! For me, he can still be at his prime !
His chin is iron chin
He is very fast
He punch hard
His cardio is very good

Just fight IQ and mental, but it isn't depend to age !

Another guy already made this exact same shit thread based on the exact same lie. Not a single person that I saw said that he was either in his prime, or that he looked his best in the trilogy fight.

Some of you people are really pathetic.

That doesn't even make sense.

At 38 it's scientifically impossible to be at your physical prime.
Depend ! You aren't at your speed, explosiveness prime, but you can b e at your strenght or endurance/resistance prime !
Depend to : your training, your mileage ( more important that age... ), your diet/nutrition etc;..

38 isn't 70 or even 60 !
DC told himself at 37-38 it was the best version of Stipe...

I don't know about that. I am pretty sure people feel his second DC fight was his best one.

lol at saying Stipe was at his physical prime at vs Ngano 2.

-4 months before turning 39 yrs old
-lost weight unintentionally
-got his eye fucked by Cormier
-Took much damage by Cormier

is "in a physical prime" to you?

Bisping was in his prime when he fought GSP & Kelvin, Silva was in his prime at vs Weidman, only in your head.

It's proven that after 30 you are never in your "physical prime." And even with MMA standard, 39 is considered too old.

For too many people, "prime" is some fantasy superpower that exists only in their head. There's a guy above literally listing all the things Stipe is bad at / has lost skill in whilst saying "despite these negatives his still in his prime hurr durr".

"Prime" should mean only "at their best" and nothing more, not some magical "omg prime!" fantasy BS

Prime is hard to describe because it means physical and mental prime. As you age you become wiser and more intelligent (CTE dependent) and when your younger, you are more explosive/faster. So when these two peaks reach together, that would be prime. Whether or not you win fights really isn’t a direct relation to prime. For example what if Francis’ prime is just higher than Stipes prime. In their first fight Francis was still learning and Stipe was still young enough to have explosive double legs.

Yeah, and what if Ngano actually never learned anything new and just implemented a new strategy, with Stipe being too old, way out of his prime at his late 30's?
Fuck 'if'. The only facts are 35 Stipe dominated 31 Ngano, and 39 Stipe got KO'd by 34 Ngano.
