Can we make a case that Stipe's 20lbs lightness may help ?

  • professional sports experience
  • high tech training
  • golden gloves champion vs HUMANDESTROYERLORD NGANOU
  • Div I Wrestler
  • lighter
  • more experience

He is a great champion and a high level athlete.

Dude was almost a pro baseballer before he got into MMA.

Golden Gloves Boxing Champ - Confirmed.

Collegiate Level Wrestling chops - Confirmed.

That said, I believe Ngannou is his most dangerous opponent yet. Tall and lengthy, with a very long reach, and HUGE power.

I think WHOEVER wins this fight may be recognized as the next great HW superstar of MMA.

Thing is right now we are seeing Francis N'gannou who is on the up and ascending. with vicious KO's.

This is what will come next Francis N'gannou in his absolute fucking prime. They all better run when that happens.

I picked Reem Vs Ngannou.

Won't make that mistake again.

Love this fight. Might be the biggest Heavyweight Title Fight ever. Both are legit. Think Ngannou will get the finish... That Power... Dang. But I will never count out Stipe.

I think Stipe's cardio and wrestling are his key to victory. We don't know about Ngannou's cardio yet, so he may surprise Stipe in that department. Stipe has to be careful not to wear himself out trying to get the takedown if Ngannou's defense is good. Scary defense for Stipe because there's still so many unkowns with Ngannou and he can knock you out with half of a punch. Stip can crack too, but striking with Ngannou give Ngannou his best chance to win. Tough fight.

You drummed up he has the best cardio because he was in an infomercial?

Every fighter is a different fighter, and every fight involving Ngannou should always come with a sentence attached "but it can all end with 1 punch". So yeah, he can land that 1 punch KO same way JDS did.

But if it doesn´t end with one punch, imo Stipe could try to use the Cain JDS approach: use his wrestling to pressure the giant, make him confused hesitant, worried about the takedowns. Use dirty boxing in the clinch (Reem just held Ngannou there, didn´t use his knees or any strikes). Take Ngannou to deep waters. Use his better cardio and footwork and outwork him.

Or Stipe could try to use the DC Rumble approach, try to wheather the early storm, and if he can take Ngannou down (which I don´t think he can, because Stipe is not on DC's level and Ngannou is super strong.... but you never know) wear him down, gnp him, try to break his will, and take his back looking for a choke.

I don’t know anything about the science behind his heart rate training. I care more about how his cardio manages during his fights but I haven’t seen enough of his fights to know that.

He’s a big man going up against a bigger, stronger, faster man and they both like to knock oppenents out.

I have a hard time seeing how Stipe wins.

He’s not going to be the stronger man and I don’t think he has the mobility to keep Francis off of him.

On top of that Francis is aggressive and confident.

Maybe a JDS vs Carwin like performance could beat Francis but Carwin doesn’t have Francis’s counters and crafty angles.

If Stipe can take him beyond round 3, I imagine he could gas Ngannou out. Stipe could use his boxing technique to make it a technical boxing match, which would bring cardio into play. These are two top heavyweights, so first guy to land a clean, solid power shot will likely win.

If this fight hits the second round it’s basically over. It will look like a murder scene in the cage if Stipe just can’t finish him. I just see Stipe’s boxing being to technical (not gonna brawl) and he will absolutely use his wrestling. Hell even if Francis holds Stipe up against the fence it probably gonna make Francis more tired than Stipe.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Stipe is gonna have the hand speed advantage. Stipe is more than twice the striker Francis is. You say Stipe won’t hve the mobility? His footwork is gonna pay dividends for him in the mobility department. Stipe has collegiate level wrestling so why wouldnt he be able to move and keep Francis off?

How the FUCK is Stipe not a star yet? The man is riding a FIVE FIGHT win streak all by KO/TKO's with FOUR of those being in the FIRST FUCKING ROUND!!! How is this guy not a fucking star? As for the fight itself, this is a HARD one as you could make a solid case for either guy, but overall I think I'll take Stipe who is more battle tested with better overall wins, but Ngannou is a legit goddamn killer with some serious power. Dis gon be good violence. No fucking way it goes the distance.
