In hindsight, it makes perfect sense. Sadly, shogun has been declining at an accelerated pace the past few years. Really wish he would have beaten henderson then ridden off into the sunset.

He's been playing or relying with that beyond-ultra-shitty linear bum rush for over ten years. It actually took a surreal fuckload of time until someone capitalized hard with a simple counter.

I figured he'd get beaten by OSP but I dont think anyone was expecting the ko. I dont like Shogun, but I'll acknowledge his place in lhw history. He should do a farewell fight vs Lil Nog and call it quits

Tough one for Shogun. I think he has maybe one fight left.

Would have been A LOT more likely if it were Manuwa.

All the fights before the main event were absolute shit, the judging was abhorrent and the crowd was retarded.

Shogun deserved to get KTFO to punish Brazil for all that stupid shit.

Best views of the finish, solid check from OSP.

It's a miracle he hadn't been countered hard with that joke of a blitz before, though I think Hendo did in the beginning of their first fight.

Being crazy tough and fearless isn't enough anymore. These guys are younger, bigger, faster, better trained.

I still respect the pioneers like Shogun the most though, because people had no idea how dangerous this shit was when they started doing it.

It's so strange because I re-watched this card today for some reason while I was watching my Oregon Ducks stomp all over FSU and had the same thought. I didn't expect this outcome at all.

Joke of a blitz??? He used that very effectively vs Machida...and it wasn't something that he used very often. A joke doesn't catch one of the best defensive fighters over and over. OSP had a nice reach and was able to use it well to counter Shogun by staying on the outside.

Wow.....the hate for Shogun in this thread is awful. Where do you guys come up with this shit??

Shogun is a legendary fighter. No reason to dislike him, except for his select group of delusional fans. He's one of the most accomplished mma fighters ever.
