Still Can't Believe Jones Touched Gloves With DC

I'm referring to Jon and DC's fight back in January. One of the biggest rivalries in the sport, probably one of the only fights where the two guys still hated each other afterwards, and Jon touched gloves with DC right before the fight, if you notice DC didn't even expect it . I mean the guys didn't even look at each other at the weigh ins the day before. I didn't expect them to touch gloves.

Jones is a sportsman and the consummate professional. Imagine the thread you would have made if he DIDN'T touch gloves

The fight was closer than most people give regard to, even though there's no doubt in my mind Jon Jones won fair and square". Cormier fought his hardest and was trying his best to beat Jones, just couldn't. Won a couple of rounds, lost a close one (again still a Jones round for me) and it had nothing to do with his mindstate. Some fighters are just better than others.

You mean to tell me that fight would have looked differently if Jones and Cormier were buds? probably not. In fact, Cormier might have not trained as hard and been as sharp.

Jones didn't mindfuck anyone and not everyone who loses is mentally weak or beaten from the start, or whatever a lot of you like to throw on them.

There are guys who kick my ass in training. They don't demoralize me or whatever, they're just better. They're better at fist fighting than I am. I don't get scared, i don't get angry, i just lose. Some people just lose. Daniel lost. Is Normal..

 

And I like when fighters do touch gloves only once at the beginning of the fight (or, in case of championship bout, when the referee asks to do so). There's no need to confirm mutual respect over and over again.

IDK about this, but i remember Jones also giving a little bumb on DC;s baby. He just tried to camouflage it as a fist bumb. I dont know sounds stupid because they were going to fight anyway but to me it seemed Jones reached little too far.
But man how much i love the fact that Jones kicked DC;s ass so good.

All the shit Conor talked about Siver he still put his hand out to the poor chap. But he already knew he was going to get his ass kicked and was in for a hell of a night, so that's why he didn't want to cooperate.
