I am from the same hometown as Molitor Sarnia Ontario and the word around town here is that he is moving back here. Its just a rumour. We have boxing gyms here, but none that can accommodate a former IBF world champion in his prime. He wouldn't be able to get the training/sparring partners needed to compete at his level. His old gym where he started is still open but it is full of chicks and highschool kids nowadays. Also his former coach Sylvio Fex now lives out in Edmonton. He could come to my gym Rivercity. We have 1 pro here who is the current Canadian cruiserweight champ, but he wouldn't be able to simulate a 122 pound fighter very well as he weighes over 200. Plus the gym is only open for 4 hours a day. So obviously if he moves back here. It means he's hanging up the gloves.

hope not still plenty of fights for him dunne, munroe, juan ma

If he goes to Sarnia, he could possibly train/fight out of a city like Detroit, Windsor, or London which are an hour or so away. Doubt he'd retire since he's still a world champion calibre fighter and theres still a lot of money to be made. Probably more homesick than anything imo.

Very unfortunate if true. I met Steve and hes a very good guy but the loss to Caballero took alot out of him not physically but mentally.

Molitor is in a good situation where he is still able to fight in front of 5,000-6,000 people in his home province and hes making some good coin as well.

It'd be pretty foolish to give that up. But hes been boxing for 20 years, if his heart isnt in it maybe its time to hang em up.

I got a flyer for Casino Rama and it mentioned that he was fighting again on September 4th. So I'm sure he's not retiring any time soon.
