I've been thinking recently about MMA, the NFL, and performance enhancing drugs. In the NFL these drugs are used to gain mass and be heavier for multiple reasons, but there aren't weight classes. There isn't a 265 weight limit for lineman, and 225 pound limit for running backs etc. Because of weight classes in MMA, could it be hindering to gain extra muscle with these drugs. For example, if Jose Aldo took steroids and went from 170 pounds to 195 pounds, would he be just as effective fighting at Welterweight? I'm just curious of their effectiveness in MMA; I'm sure some people on this forums know a lot about these drugs and could inform me and everyone else of their possible additional benefits. It just looks to me that many of the champions and other top elite fighters are fighting with a more natural physique rather than an abnormally muscular one. Edit: Theres some people thinking I'm talking about all PED's. I'm not, I'm only referring to ones that make you gain muscle.
