I recently noticed that 2 semi popular youtubers who are open about their steroid use have begun to age poorly in a relatively short period of time.

The first guy actually looks sick and unhealthy in the most recent video.

Is this due to the effects of steroids on collagen synthesis?

Example 1- Ryan Ankrom

Over 1 year ago, normal looking dude:

Less than 2 weeks ago, looking sick and weathered:

Example 2- moreplatesmoredates

4 years ago, fit dude:

Almost 2 years ago, still looks young:

Today, looks rough like he just aged 10 years:

A couple weeks ago, I ordered raw powders with the intention of one day brewing my own gear, but I've been hesitant about it, fearing health risks. This reaffirms my concerns when it comes to gear, health, and longevity. I'll just continue natty for now. I've also read that gear can negatively impact the immune system and I never get sick currently.

Edit:
More plates more dates actually just made a video about this subject. He's back on cycle btw.

I wouldn't be brewing my own gear if i was worried about its effects on aging . Why not just use pharmaceutical grade gear, so at least you know its good quality ?

Supposedly, it's the same raws that the pharmaceutical companies use at a fraction of the price. Once you see what actually goes into the brewing process and how simple it is to make safe, sterile gear (assuming that your raws are legit), it's hard to justify paying someone else to brew for you.

That said, I'm going to sit on it for awhile. The raws are very stable if kept in a cool, dark, dry environment.

Do you think the rapid aging in the pics has more to do with bunk gear than anything else? I thought it was just the normal effects of steroids..

To be fair he's probably on more than roids (meth) or something similar. I've never heard of people aging faster on steroids, but some people do simply age like shit. a few cycles aren't going to do this too you even if they were an effect. These guys talk about safe cycling but in reality have very little downtime if any between cycles.

I think you nailed it on the lack of downtime between cycles. Hormone levels fluctuate naturally for a reason. Not healthy to never take breaks.

I know the look you are describing. Imo it is coming from sudden changes in body fat often.

Brewing your own for first use is bold. I do not reccomend. Too many things could go wrong. When you do decide to use, stay with just some test. Like 500mg a week. The complications come from people using too much of other things like deca and tren. They are the devil so to speak and bring on bad stuff. But they work crazy good.

I've noticed the same thing despite people claiming it's the fountain of youth. Balding, loss of erections and looking old and weathered like in these pics is not what I would consider aging gracefully. There's more to staying young than just being able lift heavy things off the ground
we have a lot of juicers at work, and the hardcores are really showing signs now that we are all in our forties.

Run your health into the ground just lose your gains after quitting the juice for good. Seems worth it.

Why do you even need steroids. One cycle isn’t gonna age you like them though.

I studied medical science at university, I did a module on the biology of ageing and one of the theories was the testosterone theory of ageing.

Plugged it into google and found a couple of links;

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4122251/

https://www.verywellhealth.com/the-...ndocrine System, our bodies, such as menopause.

That said a year really isn't much so I'm a bit skeptical of the first guy. It looks like that might be an issue of getting super lean. There was some kind of professor on Rogan's podcast who was talking about ageing, a specialist in the field. He was saying if you get really lean the skin can age several months or years in a couple of weeks.

In the case of the second guy, I would definitely say it looks like his gear use has accelerated his ageing process. The thing about that is that it allegedly accelerates the ageing of every single cell in the body, so it's not just a cosmetic issue.

Yes steroids ages you giving you a more mature look, it’s very strange.

Aren't the pros of gear obvious? Build more muscle, burn more fat, recover faster, lots of energy, improved sex drive, better athletic potential, etc.

I don't need it though.. better to stay natural than start messing with anything... I still feel good. Will probably stay natural forever.

Brewing process is just interesting to learn about. No plans to use it.

Yeah I know why steroids are tempting. But I was just talking about you and your goals in particular. Like pro athletes and stuff need steroids for their goals or career or whatever. What do you need steroids for in particular?

No reason in particular other than the notion that maybe I would be a better version of myself with them and that there might be some kind of way to take them with breaks and pct to where I minimize the side effects and health risks enough to make the whole thing worth it.

I think in both examples the guys look like bodyfat was down and a thinner face looks older.

Yes, your face has less wrinkles if you are fat. You look "older" when you get older if you are lean because most people are fat as hell after 35.
You are delusional if you think these guys FEEL older compared to the average person sitting on their ass drinking beer.
You will understand this someday as you age and hopefully you look old too and not in the "young" looking fat camp.

Do you happen to be one of the guy in the OP post?
