A study done on mice a few years ago showed how the effects of steroids on muscle gain and strength lasted well beyond the period of use.

If you extrapolate that to humans, it would mean that the effects last for years, and someone who used steroids would always have a benefit over someone who didn't.

I'm not sure if there are any studies being done in humans, the ethical implications may prevent us from doing that, although I can see a well designed study being allowed.

Anyway I posted this because I've seen a lot of people posting about the Lesnar thing and how he is being tested. But the point isn't if he's on steroids now. If he's used them to aid strength and mass gain and to aid recovery and slow him to train harder... Those effects will definitely persist for the month and into fight night.

No way OP, it's just pure hardwork that sticks till your late 30's IMO.

Oh I have no evidence that he was using anything. I'm just saying general.

– Nuclei accumulation gets harder as you get older. Therefore, it may be advantageous to perform overload exercise at a young age in order to counteract frailty in the elderly. Such frailty is an important health issue in the aging population of Western societies, he continues.

Interesting Quote.

Basically take roids when you are young, not only to become an athlete but for your health......

brb gonna give my teenage kid roids so he will become a superstar/be healthy later in life.

The proof is in the traps, brah.

I'm pretty sure they can create a new super-steroid based on Sage's DNA.

Mark Monroe Northcutt. Known in gyms around the state as a steroid dealer,Northcutt was a body builder and power lifter who had been arrested six months before in Houston for possession of twenty-five kilos of cocaine.

Epigenetic inheritance is an unconventional finding. It goes against the idea that inheritance happens only through the DNA code that passes from parent to offspring. It means that a parent's experiences, in the form of epigenetic tags, can be passed down to future generations.

The article doesnt say which drugs were used in the study or what the half-life of those drugs in mice is.

Im not disagreeing or agreeing, just saying.

What I find interesting is based on a conversation I had with my personal trainer if you have been abusing steroids for a number of years you become dependent upon them so if you suddenly have to stop your body is going to struggle to produce testosterone naturally so you are fucked unless you start taking TRT which of course you can't do if you are an MMA fighter. Not sure how many years you have to use steroids for before it does this to you.

of course thats why fighters are tested during training camp.

What he is saying is that the steroids give u a permanent advantage.

So whoever has used roids, already has an advantage even if they are "clean" now.
