I used to watch TGIF as a kid and I was entertained but I never actually laughed at any of the shows.

I've been watching Step by Step reruns on HULU lately and this show is the shit.



Has one of the goat intro songs. At :30 you hear this Eddie Van Halen type guitar lick and all the sudden this chick just comes in spitting straight fire in the second verse. I've been to Metallica, Megadeth and Pantera concerts but nothings come closer to melting my face off than the second verse of the Step by Step theme song. I never noticed this other part until the other day but at :19 seconds there is some random ass kid holding Suzanne Somers as if he's part of the family. Never noticed that shit until recently.

The show itself is hilarious. Frank is the horniest TV dad in the history of hollywood. He tries to bang Carol about 3 times per episode. Basically any time the kids walk out of the room and they're left there alone, he's trying to get some action.

The Code Man vs. Dana Burger interactions are funny as hell. I never put two and two together as a kid and realized that Cody was trying to get his holla on with his own cousin. Weird when you think about it but not so weird when you realize the guy lives in a van in the driveway. Cody is the 2nd funniest "dumb" character ever next to Chris Pratt on Parks and Rec. Plus he knows Karate and uses it a few times during the show.

So this weekend, I invite you to curl up on the couch with your girl (or guy if you're into that sort of thing) and revisit the mastery that carried TGIF on it's back for years. Everyone liked Urkel and Michelle Tanner but the true master class was Step by Step.

Nah, that show blows a huge amount of goat cock. I would have beaten the shit out of everyone in that family other than Cody (Sasha Mitchell), who is on teh juice, is 1-0 against his spouses, and kickboxes.

A show isn't good because it has future hotties on it.

If that was the case, Charles in Charge would still be watchable.

Urkel even made a guest appearance on the 2nd episode and helped Mark win the science fair and then took Al to prom and showed everyone how to do the Urkel dance.

Ha he never actually beat his wife and was cleared of any wrongdoing in that. It was the beginning of the #metoo movement apparently.
 
Step By Step was not bad. It's kind of mid-tier of the TGIF line up. Good lookin ladies on that show. The mom was my favorite, but then again, I always liked older women when I was a kid.

I'm really digging that HULU has mostly all of the TGIF shows. You could literally have a TGIF night if you wanted to this Friday, starting at 7.

You have one man to thank for most of those TGIF shows theme songs...Jesse Fredrick. Perfect Strangers, Full House, Family Matters, and Step by Step are all him.

That pan out of the theme park though...man, good times were had in the 90s. Gave me that nostalgic feel.

Code man was awesome. It blew my mind when it was revealed he was a virgin. The dude beat up Tong Po!
 
You could tell it was written by someone in California. They had an episode where the guys were at a church service and trying to watch the Packer game. The show was supposed to be in Wisconsin. There would not be a church service on during a Packer game. The games start at noon Wisconsin time and church services are over by then. Any clergy that has held services in Wisconsin know that you have to get the congregation out of the church by 11:30 or nobody will be at the service.

Lol. I miss the martial arts movies from the 90’s where every bar had 40 sq feet of open space and every bar patron somehow knew TKD.

Whatever happened to wholesome two parent household shows with catchy intros that taught kids life lessons and didn't interject politics?
 
I liked Step by Step. Not as much as Family Matters (Urkel was the biggest star in the TGIF line up) but they had some fine ass white girls on that show. Suzanne Sommers was a baddie but I really dug the youngest daughter Al when she grew up. That Dana chick was an annoying feminist but I still would have got with her.

Cody was the star of the show hands down. Sasha Mitchell got a raw deal going to jail for beating his wife when in fact it was his wife that was the abuser. That's why he was allowed to come back on the show after the truth came out.

Glad he got to show off them martial art skills on the show. Me and my little bro taped that episode and watched it pretty often.
 
I never understood why the 'tomboy' Al was exponentially hotter than the girly older sister (blonde annoying chick)
