would be an interesting fight for sure, im sure jones would be favored pretty heavily

Meanwhile your great posting is keeping the forum alive!

Stay on topic or fuck off dude.

I'll stay on topic for you: Is the OP a real question? If you think it's actually a valid question, and not just a stupid joke thread, why not outline why you think it's close? I'm particularly interested in how you think Struve would have any chance at winning.

Put some effort into your initial post, then you can complain about others not putting effort into their responses.

Didnt Dodson say he wanted to fight Overeem? Who wins that one?

People will flame, but Struve would probably win. He's too tall for Jones to use his reach and couldn't succeed in the striking department.

His only chance is to take Struve down, but Struve is much bigger. Not only would it be hard to get him down, but his long legs and jiu jitsu game is good.

Struve wins.

Are you kidding me? Jones via demolition. He'd put Struve's back to the fence then beat the fuckin tar out of him.

Jones is a MUCH better striker than Struve. He could easily figure out a way to apply the hand-and-elbow fighting (e.g. cover hands with own hands, step in to range) he displayed against Glover, because hand-fighting is, in fact, one of the best ways to out-strike a taller opponent. He is also a far superior wrestler and kicker. Struve doesn't deserve to be in the same cage as him.

Do you all really think Jones's reach is all that allows him to have success on the feet?!?!?!

I don't like swaying people's opinions by posting my own when I make a thread asking a question.

As for why I think Struve could give Jones problems? I'm not sure he would, but it would be interesting to see. How would Jones attack him? Keep it standing or try to wrestle him? If he wants to wrestle, one could definitely argue that Struve has the tools to give him fits on the ground. If they stay standing can Struve give him problems? Less likely but Jones isn't used to facing someone like Struve, not that anyone is.

This is the problem with Sherdog. People take things too seriously. If I brought this question up at the bar with friends we could have a decent time discussing it. Here people just want to cry about everything.

Are we talking about the same Strive?

He's terrible at using his reach, Nelson and Hunto are both about 12 inch shorter with a similar reach advantage and had no problems landing on Struve.

Nelson and Hunto are also much better boxers than Jones + both guys are used to having to get inside to do damage. Jones is used to attacking from the outside so it presents a unique challenge for him.
