State of Ohio makes MMA fighters weigh in same day starting July 1

Bad, fighters will still cut a lot of weight but won't have enough time to rehydrate properly.

Bad.

California got it right with the most recent fight in Los Angeles. Fighters are going to cut no matter what.

So will 203 be badly affected by this? Maybe that's why they booked two heavyweight fights as the headliners

bad. Ssme day weigh ins suck. I hate even having them for grappling tournaments.

Fucking disaster. Too many idiots in high places.

I like it, will discourage bigger weight cuts and have fighters fight closer to their natural weight which is safer and more logical.

Then they shouldnt cut. After a couple loses I doubt they will keep it up? And whats the point of weight classes if you can weigh 20-40 lbs more then the limit when you actually fight.

So this is going to be in effect for UFC 203?

That's garbage. Watch the UFC move the card now.

Think this sort of thing has to be all or nothing. If only one state does it, no fighter is going to move to their real weight. Maybe if it was enforced throughout the sport it might have an impact.

>Ohio

Nuff said.

That's the last state you want making any rulings on sports.

I agree that weight cutting is a problem but same day weigh ins are dangerous and not a reasonable solution.

Me, too, but bad for the guys already signed for fights.

As a fighter I'd just say no thanks to fights in Ohio then.

That's awesome. Weight cutting will gradually disappear and for those saying it's unsafe if the cost outweigh the benefits then fighters won't do it also hydration testing will eliminate fighters fighting dehydrated in any bigger organisation.
People saying its "just Ohio" doesn't california also have something similar now? And with One FC and the UFC implementing all those anti weight cutting rules it#s safe to say that the end of weight cutting is near
