Starting working out tommorow

Starting tomorrow I'm going to be working out 5-6 days a week. My biggest concern is how much cardio to do at the start. I'm probably around the lower end of mediocre shape. I'm thinking of starting with heavier cardio until I'm in better shape, then toning it down and just using it to keep in shape.

Does this make sense at all, or is it just me making things up that don't really make sense?

Also, the most important thing when starting to work out is to stick with it. You can always improve what you're doing, but when you stop, most people find it very difficult to start again.
 
Have fun but don't let your enthusiasm cause you to get really sore or injured.
