So - I had a bag of almonds at one point, and eat them for fiber, good stuff. Ran out, and didn't buy a new supply until two weeks ago.
My experience with eating almonds (in place of other vegetables) has been rapid weight loss. I am not complaining, as I am trying to lose weight, but I am a bit confused. They are higher in calorie count than a vegetable equivalent - and I usually eat between 24-48 almonds.
That being said, I do know that they take longer to digest, and so additional work must be done by the digestive system. Still, I don't think that accounts for an extra .5 - 1 lb lost a day.
I thought initially it was just a coincidence, so I used science and stopped eating almonds for a few days, my weight loss decreased although was still present, or I plateaued. Started eating almonds again, and bam, losing weight quicker.
Any thoughts?
