well ive noticed my martial arts book collection has a big lack of standup books, so does anyone have any recomendations? i did a search and the only suggestions i found were an online may thai instructional (which i already have), and muay thai unleashed. im not interested in videos right now, just books. any other suggestions?

p.s. dont worry guys, i train plenty already.

most of the standup books are crap. ther eis one on amazon I have heard good stuff about though.

You guys are retarded. There are some absolutely pivotal books out there ya illiterates. lol

Jack Dempsey's book on Power Punching is a "must-have" just for the value of the vintage maxims. I may have a computer version of it somewheres. I'll have a look and let you know.

Joe Louis's book on how to train a Boxer is also really good.

There's also a book on the training regimens of World Champion Boxers that's pretty damn good.

I've gained a lot from books. I put it together with the hands on. I'm actually looking for a good one on Muay Thai. I want to learn everything from the spiritual component to technique if anyone can recomend a good one.

is the jack dempsey one the "championship fighting" one? if so, i got that from a link a while back. i forgot i had it. if you have titles for the other two ill look for them.

I just wanted to elaborate on what is crap-I meant most of the muay thai books are crap. I agree with the jack dempsey's book is gold.

there is only so much you can learn from a book. reading is good but not essencial if you have the right training coaches

Now wait, are you going to break these books over your head or karate chop a stack of them?

I don't know any good books for kicks and knees but J. Yimm Lee's book on Wing Chun and Mark Hatmaker's book Savage strikes are pretty desent, both have to be take with a grain of salt like every other mma or tma book but with an open mind a heavey bag and some one to work blocks and traps with you can lean from them both.

Hatmaker's for NHB striking technique, Ross Enamait for conditioning.
