Which song is better IYO?

Remember the comparison is strictly between the two songs, not the better band or the better singer.

Bohemias Rhapsody. Not even a contest. It's not only the better song, but it's also the more well known and most culturally impactful song.

Most culturally impactful? Is English on your list of languages to learn?

And the correct answer is Stairway to Heaven.

For me, BH>STH

And just for the helluva it,

Mercury>Plant
Led Zeppelin>Queen

Just my two cents of course.

I prefer Stairway to Heaven, but both are among the greatest songs of all time, IMO.

Can't make a choice, love both songs for different reasons.

Impactful post. but you ain't got the answer.

Bohemian Rhapsody.

When in doubt, pick the band who stole/copied less.

If I could only save one: Stairway

reasons:

1. it just rocks more (objectively) all over
2. it shreds better/more guitar
3. harder vocals (lol that anyone thinks Mercury's vocals are better. Maybe "more" orthodox or gaudy (or not), but not better or more difficult. Freddy's voice fades as it goes high, has much less power/presence/range)
4. it says something when played backwards
5. it has set / held as the golden standard for rock ballads for a long time, not so much the other song

BohRhap still is great, though

Led Zeppelin is much better than Queen...however, i'll go with Bohemian Rhapsody in this contest.

Stairway is a good song, but it was barely top 3 on Led Zeppelin 4 in my book...let alone something i would consider one of their best songs. Stairway also doesnt take off like Bohemian Rhapsody does. The ending of Stairway just doesnt get me going like Rhapsody does. Stairway stays in one mode for several minutes to the point where the melody gets boring, and then just turns into a standard Led Zeppelin song. Just never did that much for me, even when i was first introduced to their music. Bohemian Rhapsody is an amazing song. Every phase of the song left me wanting more.

Never been to into "Stairway to Heaven" -in fact, it or Four Sticks are my least favorite on LZ4

I like "when the Levee breaks, Going to California, and Battle of Evermore the best on 4.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a work of genius as far as song writing goes -it wins easily

however -I think as far as epic ballads go -Yes' "Close to Edge" "And You and I" "Starship Trooper" and "I've seen all good people" are all better than Stairway to Heaven. I'm certain -early Yes is the most under appreciated rock music ever.
